opens the new Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo SPA in Venice
The new luxury haven on the shores of Canal Grande, inside the mythical Gritti Palace Hotel, follows the Porto Cervo Yacht Club.
Venice, January 31, 2013 – Acqua di Parma opens its second Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Spa at the mythical Gritti Palace Hotel in Venice, a luxury heaven at the heart of the world’s most famous Italian city. Hosted in one of the oldest and most fascinating Venetian palaces, a few steps away from Piazza San Marco, the new Acqua di Parma Spa offers a highly appealing space to enjoy a multi sensorial experience spent on the shores of Canal Grande.
A gothic architecture of 1475, built on request of the noble Pisani family and used by Doge Andrea Gritti in 1525 as his private residence, the Gritti Palace boasts distinguished owners through the centuries. Transformed into a luxury hotel in the late 19th century, it immediately became the venue of choice for a high class and cultured international customer base including, among others, such outstanding figures as Ernest Hemingway and Somerset Maugham.
“The Gritti Palace is a true icon,” says Gabriella Scarpa, President of Acqua di Parma. “Traditionally considered as one of the world’s most exclusive hotels, it is even more splendid today, after the long and thorough refurbishment that enhances its ancient soul. Therefore there couldn’t be a better venue for our new Spa, the first in a city, as exclusive and unique as Venice. A city that is a symbol for beauty, art, culture, elegance, and noble traditions recognised all over the world. We reflect in these values, and want to convey them through the project for this new Spa, built with the most precious Italian materials. This place is intended as a symbol for the culture and elegance by which Acqua di Parma is so renowned in the international scenario.”
Facing the Church of S. Maria della Salute and a few steps away from the La Fenice Theatre and Piazza San Marco, the new Blu Mediterraneo Spa of Acqua di Parma – built on a project of Studio Asia of Architect Carla Baratelli – is the perfect venue to enjoy precious moments of wellbeing. An elegant and relaxing space, carefully designed in all details, where Murano glass, gold-leaf mosaics, wenge wood, and precious marbles are blended together into an original and contemporary restyling, creating an intimate and unique ambiance. The Spa, located near the lobby, has two entrance doors – a more secluded one for the hotel guests and a second one for the general public, accessed from the private pier on the Canal Grande. The process starts with a first booth dedicated to foot-baths, followed by suites used both individually and in pairs, and designed to accommodate the whole range of treatments based on the exclusive Blu Mediterraneo method. The Spa also includes relaxing showers and a Turkish bath. In order to provide the highest standard of service and individually cater to all customer needs, a carefully selected team of therapists are on hand to ensure every customer is satisfied.
The Acqua di Parma creations, special editions, and unique products, including Blu Mediterraneo Italian Resort face and body treatments, are on sale at the reception. The line is expanded with the Mediterranean Oxygenating ComplexTM, the same active ingredient used for the Spa treatments that allow you to recreate the energizing effects of a day spent at the Blu Mediterraneo Spa in your own home.
The Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Spa in Venice joins the Blu Mediterraneo Spa in Porto Cervo, located at the exclusive Costa Smeralda Yacht Club – two unique facilities created for a brand intended to offer a perfect and elegant Italian-style service to an international customer base.
